2nd last project for 3rd semester

Yosemite Sam lipsync animation

For my final project in 3rd semester animation the assignment was to act without the lipsync. We haven't been taught how to lipsync yet, so mouth shapes were not mandatory, but i thought i would give it a try anyway. It took a lot of trial and error to get the lips to change at the right time, but i learned a lot and I'm excited for next semester.

the monster mash

Here's my monster for my Digital Tools class. It's still missing something but i can't quite figure out what. Any suggestions?

Oh and the reason im posting this is because a good friend of mine wanted to see my process from start to finish. This is usually how i work, but nothing is really set in stone cuz im always tryin out different ways of doing stuff.

I hope this is helpful. And let me know if you wanna see more posts like this so i'll keep it in mind for next time.

Heavy Ball animation

This is the first animation im actually kinda proud of. I think it's because im starting to really enjoy doing it. Last year i wasn't motivated to animate at all. I just did it because I had to. But thanks to my instructor Deanna and good friend Ollie I'm beginning to realize why animation is so important.

comments and critiques are welcome.

Digital Figure Drawings

I went to life drawing the other day and decided i'd try painting the poses on my laptop rather than using paper. It was really challenging to have to worry about color on top of everything else and still make it look right. I really enjoyed it though and ill definately be doing it again soon.

Chip and me

This is my lastest character design assignment. I had to draw 10 poses of a classmate and 10 of myself. It was a lot of fun and surprisignly challenging because i was really indesisive in terms of style. As you can see the design of me is sort of UPA, while Chip's design is a little more realistic in terms of proportion. I had a hard time drawing myself accurately at first but after A LOT of revisions, i draw something i was happy with. I hope you enjoy lookin at it as much as i enjoyed drawing it.

foosh

Tying some new painting techniques in Photoshop. I haven't painted something in a while so I'm a bit rusty, but it's good to be painting again. I've been working on a lot of character designs lately so look out for those real soon.

Summer Caricatures

Ill start things off with a sketch of my good friend Juan. He's pretty much a Columbian Jay Leno.

I love afros.

This guy was a tourist from England. He's never had poutine so i figured i would treat him to one.

I asked her what kinda body she wanted. She said "you decide"...

I did this drawing of Gordon, i still like it with only the nose colored though. thats really all you need when it comes to gordo.

this wasnt a real person, but i thought it was a pretty cool drawing.

My friend/co-worker Catherine, sorry i dont have a pic of her but she pretty much looks like that haha.

these girls didnt know what they wanted so i drew this. i like the one on the right.

my favourite sketch of the season. they had a good sense of humour

This guy was the son of the big nosed people. (i think)

As you can probabbly tell I worked at Canada's Wonderland this summer as a caricature artist. I cant believe i was getting paid to make fun of people.

The best part is that I learned A LOT about drawing faces and just drawing in general. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their drawing skills.

P.S.: I signed some of the drawings as "Jesus" cuz that's my middle name.

some sketches

i started a new sketchbook last week and for the first time in a long time, im using paper thats bigger than 5 x 8.5". It's so liberating to draw on regular sized paper for a change.
the iron man and joker were done at the fan expo ( i did alot of waiting in lines)
despite the lineups, i had an awesome time and i cant wait till next year.
